Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026
The First Year Books kit is sold by Tim Warburton ("we", "us"). We respect your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we handle when you visit our site or buy First Year Books.
As a small business, we may be exempt from the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Even so, we choose to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and to be open about what we do.
1. What we collect
- Order details – your name, email address, country, items bought and order amount. We receive these from our checkout provider when you buy.
- Free checklist – our free BAS due-dates checklist downloads directly from this site. We don't ask for your email address to get it, and we do not run a signup form.
- Messages – anything you send us by email (for example, support requests).
- Basic site data – our host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits. It does not use cookies or track you across other sites. We do not use advertising trackers.
We do not receive or store your full card number. Payments are processed by our checkout providers.
2. Checkout and platform providers
Purchases will be processed by Payhip and Stripe once the kit is on sale. These providers collect payment and billing information directly from you and handle it under their own privacy policies:
- Payhip – https://payhip.com/privacy
- Stripe – https://stripe.com/au/privacy
Some of these providers are based overseas (for example, in the United States, the United Kingdom or Ireland), so your information may be stored or processed outside Australia.
3. Why we use it
We use your information to deliver your purchase, provide support and updates, handle refunds, meet our tax and record-keeping obligations, and prevent fraud. We send marketing emails only if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
4. Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the business (payment, hosting, email), or where the law requires it.
5. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. We keep order records for as long as tax law requires (generally 5 years in Australia), then delete or de-identify them.
6. Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or make a privacy complaint, by emailing firstyearbooks@mail.grokbot.com. We aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
7. Overseas buyers
If you live in the EU or UK, or another region with its own privacy laws, you may have additional rights (such as erasure). Contact us to use them.
