Terms of Sale & Licence

These terms apply when you buy the First Year Books kit, which is sold by Tim Warburton ("we", "us"), once it is on sale through our Payhip store.
1. Important: not advice
First Year Books is a general information and record-keeping tool. It is not tax, financial or legal advice. It does not take into account your personal circumstances. Tax rules change, and you are responsible for checking that your records and lodgements are correct. For advice on your situation, consult a registered tax agent (you can check registration at tpb.gov.au) or another qualified professional.
2. Licence
When you pay, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the product for your own personal or internal business purposes. You may:
- make copies for your own use and backups;
- edit and customise the product for your own records.
You may not:
- resell, share, sublicense, give away or distribute the product or any modified version of it, whether free or paid;
- upload it to template marketplaces or file-sharing sites;
- pass it off as your own product.
For team or multi-business use, contact us about a multi-user licence. We (or our licensors) keep all intellectual property in the product.
3. Delivery
The product is delivered as a digital download or link after payment. You need Microsoft Excel, LibreOffice or a free Google account (Google Sheets) to use it.
4. Prices and tax
Prices are shown in AUD. We are not registered for GST, so no GST is included in our prices. Some platforms may add GST, VAT or sales tax at checkout, as required in your location.
5. Refunds and consumer rights
See our Refund Policy. Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under that law.
6. Liability
To the extent the law allows, and except for the consumer guarantees above, we are not liable for loss arising from how you use the product, including decisions made from data you enter. Where the law allows us to limit our liability, it is limited to supplying the product again or refunding the price you paid.
7. Changes and law
We may update these terms. The version in force when you bought applies to that purchase. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
